Saad Ahmad, MD, FACC, FSCAI

Saad Saifuddin Ahmad, MD, is a cardiologist with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. His expertise and interest include complex coronary intervention, mechanical circulatory support, shock, and advanced heart failure & transplant.

After earning his medical degree from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan, he pursued Post Doctorate research at Whitaker Cardiovascular Institute at Boston University. Dr. Ahmad completed an internal medicine residency and fellowships in general cardiology, heart failure, transplant, and interventional cardiology at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. Before joining AMG, Dr. Ahmad served as the director of the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team at the University of Cincinnati, additionally he served as the heart failure director and associate Cardiac Cath Lab director at VAMC in Cincinnati, Ohio. As an associate professor, he successfully mentored several medical trainees, his contributions to education have been recognized by successive teaching awards.

With a clinical interest in advancing treatments for severe heart conditions, Dr. Ahmad has served as principal investigator for several clinical trials, authored numerous publications for peer-reviewed medical journals and presented at various local and regional conferences. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, as well as an associate of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation and the Heart Failure Society of America.
