Raul Flores, MD, FACC

Raul Jesus Flores, MD, is a fellowship-trained cardiologist specializing in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Flores has clinical expertise across a broad range of cardiac conditions ranging from chronic cardiomyopathies and advanced heart failure, to acute cardiogenic shock, as well as patients with heart transplants and mechanical circulatory support.

After earning his medical degree at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Newark, NJ, Dr. Flores completed an internal medicine residency at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/ NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in NYC. He then completed two fellowships, one in general cardiology at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, NJ, and a second subspecialty fellowship in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology at New York University Langone Medical Center in NYC. He is fluent in Spanish and has a special interest in creating care pathways for underserved populations.

The author of multiple publications in peer-reviewed medical journals on a wide range of topics related to cardiovascular disease and advanced heart failure, Dr. Flores has also presented on cardiac sarcoidosis at national conferences. Dr. Flores previously served as the president of the American Heart Association Cardiovascular Fellows Society of Greater New York from 2021-2022, where he was responsible for coordinating with specialists from around the country to organize cardiology events and, prior to that, served as the vice president of education. He is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
