This will be an in-person, hands-on event held at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center at 1 Jets Dr., Florham Park, NJ 07932.

It will feature Michael Hernando, MD, director of minimally invasive and robotic surgery at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center.

It will include light fare, a tour of the latest in robotic surgical equipment. Earn up to 2 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

Describe the core components and capabilities of the Intuitive da Vinci surgical system and how they enhance surgical precision, visualization and control.
Explain the clinical benefits and limitations of robotic-assisted surgery compared to conventional laparoscopic and open approaches.
Identify appropriate patient selection criteria and surgical indications for robotic-assisted procedures.
Review clinical outcomes associated with the robotic surgery program at Atlantic Health Morristown.
Recognize when referrals to a robotic surgery program may optimize patient outcomes and streamline care pathways.

Per Atlantic Health Jets Training Center security procedures, attendees will proceed through a courteous screening prior to entering.

Attendees will be asked to remove all metal objects from their pockets and bags, including cellphones, and place them on the security table. Bags will be placed through an x-ray scanner, and attendees will walk through a metal detector upon arrival.
