The Pediatric Eating Disorders Center at Atlantic Health System
Program Manager
Staff Psychologist – Provide oversight for the daily functions of the Center. Oversee multidisciplinary staff of 30 individuals. Provide clinical supervision for the program’s psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, and licensed professional counselors. Develop and implement structure and curriculum for the Partial Hospitalization Program. Trained and certified as a provider of FBT through the Training Institute for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders. Created and coordinate outpatient Family Based Treatment (FBT) services. Integrated FBT into the Partial Hospitalization Program and the Intensive Outpatient Program. Provide FBT on an outpatient basis to children and adolescents diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa and Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorders. Provide outpatient individual psychotherapy to adolescents diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorders using a cognitive-behavioral approach and Fairburn’s Cognitive Behavioral Therapy- Extended (CBT-E). Provide outpatient family treatment for child and adolescent patients diagnosed with ARFID using CBT-AR. Conduct group psychotherapy for child and adolescent patients and their parents in the Partial Hospitalization Programs. Perform intake assessments to offer diagnoses and recommendations regarding required level of care. Provide consultation services on the pediatric inpatient unit for patients admitted medically with eating disorders. Developed protocol for assessing program outcomes and initiated development of the research database. Analyze data regarding program efficacy and develop quality improvement projects. Deliver presentations focusing on eating disorder etiology and treatment as well as promoting healthy body image. Supervised pre-doctoral externs. Trained medical residents on adolescent interview techniques.

Forensic Clinician - Conducted forensic evaluations of children and adults presenting with issues related to child abuse and neglect. Provided psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults to address psychological functioning, parenting skills, and/or child abuse. Liaised with the Division of Youth and Family Services and the courts to coordinate treatment and offer recommendations. Trained in the Child First/Finding Words protocol for interviewing children and preparing children for court. Provided fact witness and expert witness testimony for cases involving child abuse and neglect. Agency representative for the Morris County Multidisciplinary Team (Child Abuse), which provides ongoing collaboration among service professionals. Predoctoral Intern - Performed forensic psychosocial examinations for child and adolescent victims of abuse and neglect. Conducted evaluations of non-offending parents to guide permanency recommendations. Provided treatment for children and families referred for child abuse and neglect using primarily trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy. Conducted psychological screening evaluations of children and adolescents, ages 3 months to 18 years, placed in foster care in conjunction with New Jersey’s Comprehensive Health Evaluation for Children program. Coordinated and supervised therapeutic supervised visitations between non-custodial parents and their children and provided recommendations to the family court for future parenting time. Served as a liaison with the Division of Youth and Family Services and the courts in order to guide treatment goals and placement decisions. Attended weekly grand rounds, didactics, diagnostic meetings, and treatment meetings. Received weekly individual and group supervision.

Collaborated with community service agencies to assist patients in gaining access to referral-based services. Participated in weekly didactics, inpatient rounds, inpatient community meetings, and individual supervision sessions.
