Athena Farella, MSN, RN, CVN

Athena Farella, MSN, RN, CVN is a distinguished registered nurse with over 30 years of experience in cardiovascular care. Her career began in the cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratory, building a strong clinical foundation that evolved into leadership roles across cardiovascular services.

Athena earned her Master of Science in Nursing Leadership from Kean University and has contributed to numerous professional publications in her field. She is the proud recipient of both the Advanced Nursing Care Award for Excellence and the Citizen Award from Manalapan—recognitions that reflect her dedication to clinical excellence and community impact.

As a passionate advocate for improved patient outcomes, Athena serves on the American College of Cardiology’s Committee for Early Heart Attack Care, championing early intervention strategies nationwide. For the past eight years, she has been driving cardiovascular quality initiatives and now leads as the Quality Manager of Quality and Noninvasive Services. In this role, she promotes patient safety, enhances efficiency, and fosters best practices through accreditation and evidence-based care standards.
